Raleigh builder maps 338 homes, hotel, commercial space for Wake town
A Triangle builder with a number of projects in the Triangle is looking to bring hundreds of new homes plus commercial space and a new hotel to Knightdale.
A Raleigh developer has plans for massive mixed-use project in Knightdale calling for hundreds of new homes, commercial mixed-use space and a hotel.
Earlier this year, Raleigh developer Shenandoah Homes filed its master plan for the Legacy Oaks Mixed-use, with plans featuring nearly 53,000 square feet of office and retail space, a 110-room Holiday Inn Express hotel, and 338 new homes across a disjointed property west of downtown Knightdale.
The project is situated on a total 105 acres by the N.C. Highway 64 ramps to Interstate 540.
The town council is tentatively planning to hold a hearing on the project in April and hopes to vote it in May.
Bohler is providing planning and engineering services.
The project is just the latest mixed-use development proposed for Knightdale as the town and the rest of eastern Wake County continue to attract builders and grpw at a rapid pace. South of downtown Knightdale, a $65 million development calls for 141 single-family detached homes and townhouses, 348 apartments and 15,000 square feet of retail space at the corner of Smithfield and Mailman roads just north of Interstate 87.
